The course
Pete Dye's course at Barefoot Resort lives up to his reputation for memorable, challenging designs, stretching 7,343 yards with a 149 slope from the tips.
Opened in 2000, this semiprivate layout punishes wayward shots with native grasses, exceptional elevation changes, and trouble waiting on every miss. Bordering the white sands of the Carolina Bays, the setting alone makes it a strong pick for a Myrtle Beach golf trip.
The par 72 plays 7,343 yards from the championship tees at a 73.3 rating and an imposing 149 slope, the highest number most groups will see all week. Men's tees measure 6,634 and ladies' tees 5,021, with Bermuda greens throughout. Pick the right tees, keep the ball in front of you, and Dye's design will give you a round worth talking about.

★Course was aerated 2 days before we played. Never was told. Payed full price.
★★★★★Great course and challengng as well
★★★★★Best if the three.
★★★★★Always like the Dye course layout and experience! Greens should be faster. Excessive advertising on cart screens is the worst I have ever experienced.
★★★★★Nice course, all course had its difficulties, very nice challenge!
★★★★Close second to TPC, well maintained.

★★★★★Very nice and challenging
★★★★★Beautiful course, challenging but fair in great shape
★★★★Course needs refurbished the Due character is rotted away
★★★★★Course was in great shape. Staff was awesome…starter gave great advice on how to play the course - can’t wait to play it again!
★★★★★Beautiful layout, very fair to all levels of golfers and amazing condition.
★★★★★this was the last day we played and I was able to play the whole 18 holes.
★★★Average conditions and above average cost makes it a bit disappointing.
★★★★Very slow play golf day. Rangers needed on course to manage pace of play.
★★★★★Best course yet
★★★★★Tough, challenging course. Friendly staff throughout. Back nine was pretty much rained out. As we had already made the turn and played the tenth while we received a rain check for nine which was greatly appreciated. Will definitely be back.
★★★★Overall very well maintained, although many of the tee boxes were in poor condition.
★★★$107 was too much. Greens had just been aerated, course was not in great shape, looked like it needed water. Course needs renovation to justify premium rates. $65 would have been appropriate in current condition.
★★Very disappointed to spend the amount of money and not know the greens were recently aerated. Also the fact that it was extremely hot, no working water fountain, beverage cart or ranger on course distributing water.
★★★★★Excellent golf course
★★★Average conditions
★★★Course was ok but not great shape
★Horrible condition especially the front 9. Goat ranch. I was there 18 years ago and it was pristine. Very disappointed.
★Great layout and condition. However, had a bad experience with staff. Not very customer friendly quite honestly. I will not be back at this course again - and it is a shame.
★★★★★Very good conditions and layout.
★★★★★Most challenging of all barefoot courses. Best course conditions. Best greens, fairways, and tee boxes. A must play if you’re headed to barefoot.
★★★★★In great shape for Monday After the Masters...terrific.
★★★★★Great shape, as we thought—right before Monday After The Masters.
★★★★Slow play, great conditions
★★★★★Outstanding course, great staff, excellent condition
★★★★★Really enjoyed the Dye course. Very challenging as always!
★★★★★Amazing place to play
★★★★Love this course have been playing here since they only had a trailer!
★★★★★great course loved it
★★★★★Dissappointed that the greens were not cut and were very slow. Course layout was great
★★★★★Simply the best of the four barefoot courses, challenging, shop precision required, overall a beautiful course.
★Worst day of the trip. I was told back in April before adding this course that over seeding was done in early October yet it was being done while we were there. Cart path only on a hard and dry course was bad. Club pro/manager was an arrogant, full of himself jackass. Treated us like second class people. Again there were other groups stuck in the middle of our 11 straight tee times. I will never play there again. Pro should be fired. Club guys and snack bar lady were first rate. No on course drink cart on an 80 degree humid day.
★Over priced for such a crappy condition of the course. Played here several times and it was great. Now, it is as bad as a Legends course. A shame to let it fall apart from what it used to be
★★★★★was intimidating as I'm sure Pete intended. Nicely cared for.
★★★★★Love the layout. Tough course. Clubhouse food was great.
★★★★★Nice . Fast greens. 9/10
★★★Unable to play as course was closed due to tropical storm Debby.
