Carolina native and leading PGA TOUR professional Davis Love, III, may have solidified his reputation as a course designer with his newest creation at Barefoot Resort. Competing with other architects in the Barefoot Resort project such as Fazio, Norman and Dye, Davis was determined to build a course that was unique, visually striking and fun to play. The course even incorporates a replica of ruins from a 17th Century plantation house, similar to ruins found along holes in Scotland and Ireland. You will enjoy wide fairways and generous landing areas. However, don’t get to relaxed as you will be hitting to tough, turtle back designed greens.
Barefoot courses were great!
Small greens were killer
Very nice coarse but the greens weren't as nice as Fazio
course was in good shape. 4 starts given because they pushed us out on 10 not hole 1
Small greens but hole always had a safe tide to play to. Good condition. Since 9 does not bring you back to the clubhouse and service carts did not have and sandwiches, our midmorning time prevented us from having much of a lunch
always a delight for the first game ...
great course good challenge
The course in in great shape.
Great course. One of my top 3.
this is my second favorite course of the five that we played for the week. The course was in magnificent shape and I like the small greens they put it fantastic.
Course was in excellent shape and was a very nicely laid out course. They let me go out as a single in front of at least 3 foursomes that were together, which was great!! I was able to play some of the holes multiple times and get in a good practice round with multiple shots. Never really ran into anyone (a foursome let me go through and I never saw them again). The only thing I have negative to say is I wish they had the lunch/2 beer special available for the Barefoot course. I would also like to play the other 3 courses to see if they are as good.
Went out early and they actually let me go out as a single. There were 3 foursomes going out behind me and I pretty much had the course to myself, playing holes multiple times and getting good practice in on multiple shots. Course was in excellent shape and caught a 70 degree day in December. Excellent course in excellent shape. Would also like to play the rest of the Barefoot courses if they are half as good as Love course.
nice course
This was our favorite course there we loved it we had a great time definitely again the food with the cart girls there has to be more they just had snacks and they were barely there I have might’ve seen the car girl once maybe twice and it was either beginning or at the end
Course was in great condition. Greens were rolling great.
Outstanding golf course
Greens were fine, but the sand traps are like playing out of beach sand. Horrible.
Nice course. need to stay in the fairway or there are some pretty nasty areas to get out of. Avoid the "Love" grass along the edges.
Courses are great but pace of afternoon play was terrible.
Nice layout!
excellent conditions
excellent conditions
tough courses
Strategic nightmare at times.
Good shape. Pace of play was slower but they did a good job with organization
Good
Our favorite, fair course
Great course!
Great shape, forgiving, good for all levels
great greens.
Pretty good barefoot course - should include more than one bucket of range balls…
Every hole was into the wind, how did they design it that way?
Great course and layout
Splendide
Played in the rain but was still one of the best courses we played in Myrtle.
Nice course, tee boxes, greens and fairways very nice and playable
Prettiest course out of 4
didnt get to play had to leave early
See above, of the three resort courses I favor the Fazio then the two others on no particular order. Good lay out, always in good shape, etc.
Fun and challenging!
Course was in great condition. We love the barefoot courses but this is one of our favorites!
This is a very nice course. Small greens
our favorite course of the trip!
Rain out
Never played
Nice course pace of play was horrible we had a three sim they tried to put a single with us we did not want that so they put the single out before us he played two balled on every hole from tee to green waited all day very unenjoyable.
Did not get to play due to weather.
Didn't get to play
Gale winds and rain kept us away. We’ll be back
same as above
we played and there we "superintendents revenge pins" which were all nearly impossible to 2 putt. We were not happy as it ruined the round. We complained to Pro Shop and they were unaware and had many complaints. We normally have greatly enjoyed Love. In retrospect-they should have comped our replay.
Some of the pin placements were just unfair.
alot of the green side bunkers have alot of rocks in them and not enough sand.
i loved the course--fairways were in perfect condition.
Really enjoyed the course, need to play again!
Nice track. Well maintained.
Great, fun course, fantastic looking course, good challnge but fair.
Very unhappy with the course
Great course in great condition.
Very fair course. In great shape. Marshall was around every 3-4 holes with water. Great service.
Average course
nice course, but tough
Course great but greens were poor. I think due to recent weather conditions
Davis Love is an evil man! Standing on the tee box you say “this hole looks simple” and you walk off the green with a double bogey. Great lay out, all greens were elevated. Greens were big and fast so if you find yourself on the wrong side of the green you might 3 putt. Fairway bunkers seem to be golf ball magnets. They are strategically place and seem to be where you are going to hit your ball. This is a course that I want to play again.
Didn’t like greens at all
Good Course
Awesome condition
course we in great shape! new favorite!
Good track. Greens are great. Rest of the conditioning is ok.
course is in great shape, greens rolled well
Awesome course and in great shape.
Did not like the hole with the creek that wandered back and forth across the fairway.
3.5
Excellent condition, very picturesque
Good course to start with
Great course, great architecture!
Great experience all around.
Very Nice
Nice coarse rained that day cart path only
Definitely the most picturesque of the three. The greens were challenging but fun.
Long course for cart path only, but couldn't be helped.Pro Shop & other staff profesdional & pleasant.
only got to play 9 due to rain..that is why a 3 but nice course
Loved the course
Quite ordinary
good course nice people course in fine condition
Very nice layout....slow greens
had hydraulic issues with some of the greens
Very small greens. Course wasn't in great shape. If I return I would not schedule this course. Awesome staff.
Fast greens and difficult pin placements. Two of the greens had an hydraulic leak and were being treated with sand.
Course Was in good shape. They just sanded two greens before our round.
Some holes had damaged greens. Otherwise the course was in good condition, just not my favorite
Best greens at Barefoot!
Challenging
Sanded greens
Always in great shape and always have great staff to help you out.
Was the perfect way to start off our trip. Beautiful course. Quite a bit of sand on the greens but they did roll true.
Best of the group for overall course conditions and hospitality
Played the Cypress and Lakes. Would have loved to play Waterway, but it was closed for the day. Starter and clubhouse staff were great. Loved the layout, and the greens were a bit sandy, but putted decently. A an overall good day.
Very nice course. Everything was in good shape on the courses. Favorite of all the courses.
Super wet because of overnight rain but impeccable condition
Same greens were sandy
Of the 4, it was #3. Well manicured.
Greens has been punched and weren’t rolling as smooth as they could be. Dye course also had rough areas of wire weed just off the fairway
