Blackmoor is located just south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet on S.C. Hwy 707.Wild turkeys, gators and deer can be seen on the course as you are in a pristine natural area. “Hit every shot in your bag” is Gary Players idea of how to play golf…and Blackmoor fits that description to a tee. Many challenging holes of risk and reward. Cut the dogleg and be on the green…fall short and you’re in the marsh. Moderate undulating and average to large greens and plenty of greenside bunkers. Several holes have dual fairways. Some of the shorter holes are the most challenging as you have?to decide to “go for it” or lay back. This is a thinking man’s course. Go brain dead and record a snowman. Most fairways are average in width with few fairway bunkers. 400 year old oaks and majestic pines border most of the fairways. Best on Trip
The grass in the fairways was spotty at best.
Tee boxes and fairways were not in good shape, greens were nice
Tee boxes and fairways were not in very good shape, playing the ball down was a struggle
Staff were very organized and very friendly. We played 18 holes in the am and pm with pace of play just over 4 hours. Great piece of property and the routing was good. Was a little strange to see how they turned a par 4 to a par 3 on the front 9 next to the highway 707 but it is understandable with the oncoming traffic. The course was in very good shape and the greens were good as well. Would definitely play here again. The starter told us a lot of dog leg holes but just hit it 220 yards down the middle and all will be good - great advice for sure!
Very nice, good layout, very playable
Tee boxes cut too high, greens too slow, poor service. Tried to get burgers after round, 1:45, cook said already turned off grill.
Only played a scramble and just nine holes but enjoyed every minute. Loved this course very tough greens. My game needs to emprove.
Course was great but very slow pace of play with a group of 5 golfers ahead of us and this was allowed
Fairways looked like hadn’t been cut for a week.
Course was in good shape
