The course
Eagle Nest brings a Pinehurst flavor to the beach, with gently rolling ground, deep pine forest, and one of the toughest finishing stretches on the Grand Strand.
Gene Hamm designed this par 72 in 1971, and its combination of undulating Champion Bermuda greens and challenging yardage still holds up. The closing run is the story: a long par 4, a long par 5, and an uphill par 3 to an elevated green, a trio billed for years as the three toughest finishing holes on the Strand. They remain a genuine challenge today.
From the championship tees the course plays 6901 yards at a 72.2 rating and 126 slope, with men's tees at 6417 yards and ladies' tees at 5105. Both the course and clubhouse have recently been remodeled. The spacious clubhouse houses a well stocked pro shop, and the snack bar serves traditional fare after the round.

★★★Course was good,,renovating clubhouse so no ice, beer, grill, etc. Cart girls had ice and drinks,,front nine I bought 2 beers,, but back nine they same cart girls who sold me a couple beers and hour earlier all of a sudden insisted on and ID ( first I'm 72, obviously, second my ID was in the car, and third they just sold me beer) duh!!! Would even let one of the guys I'm playing with buy me a beer,,not brightest bulb in box but the golf was good
★★★★★Absolutely beautiful course. The last three holes are indeed as advertised.
