The course
Built on a 900 acre marsh preserve, The Pearl Golf Links offers 27 holes ranked among the top courses in the Carolinas, with a dynamic finish along the Calabash River.
Dan Maples laid out The Pearl in 1986, carving a traditional design through pristine forest before turning toward the marsh and the Calabash River at the finish. Golf Digest nominated it among the Best New Public Courses in America, and it remains one of the most sought after tee times on the north end of the beach.
The 27 holes play as three different 18 hole combinations of the East, North, and West nines, so a group can come back and see a different course. Each par 72 combination runs about 6793 yards from the championship tees at a 134 slope, 6250 from the members tees, and 5125 for the ladies, all on Bermuda greens.
