The course
Arnold Palmer took a superb piece of land on the Shallotte River and built one of his best designs. Rivers Edge is a course your group should not skip.
Opened in 1999, Rivers Edge runs seven of its holes along the Shallotte River, where marsh grasses frame some genuinely scenic golf. The property moves through dramatic elevation changes, from high bluffs down to low marsh, and the views are panoramic throughout the round.
The par 72 plays 6909 yards from the championship tees with a stout 149 slope, 6635 from the members tees, and 4692 for the ladies. Greens are Sunday Bermuda. Many holes put real risk in front of you, so the same swing that brings an eagle chance can just as easily produce a snowman. Plan your lines and it rewards you.

★★★★★I had played once before here and love the layout. The layout is an outstanding test of Arnold Palmer designed target golf, which I like, but is very challenging. The fairways, grounds, and paths were in excellent shape. The greens were in above average condition but rolling too slow. The staff and facilities were top notch!
