The Maples is a nice playable course. It has a separate clubhouse from Byrd and Jones course location. Heavily treed with giant oaks and hanging moss line the course. Some large tee to green waste bunkers…with…OOPs…trees in the bunkers. Medium well trapped undulating greens. Putting is key on this course with lots of subtle breaks. Don’t miss the bar. Lot of bets have been settled over a tall cool one here.
Very poo conditions.
Not well mantained and staff was saying the courses were close to being sold and no one cared.
Reported to Cliff, terrible course. Bad fairways and dangerous cart paths. Greens had at least 3 different types of grass. Poorly maintained. Clubhouse closed at 230 pm. Couldn’t finish round as sprinklers were on the green. Very bad experience. Glad that our money was returned for other booked rounds. We were able to book better courses.
Tight course, ok condition.
great course
This course is in very rough shape, would not recommend it.
Still very rough.
Sand Traps need to be raked
Sand Traps need to be raked
Greens were a little slow. Tees shaggy. Pretty decent though.
nice layout, but needs some landscaping
Same as Jones, great layout little easier, a really nice resort.
Decent layout but the course was not in good condition. Narrow fairways and the rough was bare in many spots. The greens were punched and virtually in puttable. Cart paths are in need of repair
greens were in excellent shape. Cart paths definitely need work
was in good shape, but the snack bar was closed, so no lunch for our replay, that was very disappointing
Some of the fairways still had debris on them. Restaurant was closed.
Course seems rather neglected and in poor shape. Also no food at the course was bad.
A bit better on the greens than Tuesday
Terrible fairways, very slow greens. Maybe the worst course we have played in Myrtle Beach in 28 years.
Course was in horrible shape and stater was lackadaisical in hiss approach to his duties. We will NEVER play this course again.
Sub-standard. Course was in poor condition, starter and pro shop operators were indifferent and not helpful.
No water on course, in terrible shape, staff rude/indifferent
Terrible condition. No food options. The guy at the clubhouse told me before we teed off and again at the turn that a cart would come around with sandwiches and drinks. We played 37 holes and cart never showed up. Course needs to be bulldozed.
Worst course on the trip. Golf shop guy was rude and tried to tell us the course was closed. Will not return here.
Course will not be open this time next year. They are putting no money into it. Clubhouse was empty, no food, and staff were unfriendly.
Better course
Greens were in good shape. Fairways had no grass and burnt grass.
Cart path is in ruff shape The people were great
probably the worst shape of the 3 sea trail courses we played over the weekend.
Na
Fairways were good; however, greens needed work.
Kind of a neglected course, fairways a mess.
See above
Greens were inconsistent, and the rough was so spongy it was almost impossible to hit out of. Traps were ungroomed. There was no beverage service on the course or at the turn. Would rate negative if possible.

Cart paths need attention, badly.
Very enjoyable time. Course played well and pase was good. We had a very good time. All staff were pleasant and friendly.
Overall the course was in pretty good shape. Greens were nice and we could walk to the first tee from our villas.
good course
Lovely scenery, fairways were very easy to keep our balls inplay, The greens were goood at this time of the year. No regrets.
Same as above
Interesting course as well, it was quite a bit like the Byrd. The check in and cart loading was efficient and friendly.
N/A
Course was ok, greens better than Byrd. Staff was friendly
The frat 4-5’holes not great. Our least favorite.
A very nice course i thought thebest of the 3 we played
needed more amenities at the clubhouse
Very nice course, staff very friendly.
very good
didnt play 2nd time
greens were not in the best shape and were different on both sides
greens were really slow, clubhouse ran down.
Course is old and outdated, greens haven’t been cut and are really slow. Not enough staff. Clubhouse isn’t stocked. No snack bar open.
Starter was awesome, track was incredible. No beverage cart.
Need more ball washers, trash cans and cart person sell drinks.
No maintenance or upkeep was evident with bathrooms or cart paths. Greens were spotty and in poor condition
Course conditions the worse I've seen in MB. The course should have been closed. Cart paths unridable, tee boxes were awful. It was quite embarrassing for me to have the group play there.
Rain got us so no golf. Gave 4 stars because I love the Maples course.
Course was nice and speed of play was awesome in the afternoon
Like the course. Cart paths were very rough.
Great course
needs some TLC
greens were in bad shape
Overall upkeep of the course was poor. With as many options to play in the NC/SC coast I don't plan to come back. We played on a Saturday, where were the workers? The grill was not open that is very poor!
Gr ens we’re terrible
Greens not good
We’re is cart girls for water
Very good layout, but the conditions are deteriorating
Very nice people working there, because of the weather they were nice enough to have us play our reround at the jones course.
no food our liquor restaurant was closed the whole trip
Great course. We will add again in a later outing.
Good course
Really bad and bumpy cart paths
Mediocre at best
loved the course and people were very friendly!!!
Lacking grass in fairways
Course needs attention
Greens need some attention
Greens, tee boxes and fairways playable but not great. All looked like they needed a mowing but also very soggy conditions. Bag drop guy was very nice and helpful.
Course in good shape for time of year, and the entire staff interactions were cordial and pleasant.
Probably the most diverse course and fun. Needs upgrading on the cart paths or eliminate the worst spots .
Great design
Best staff out of the courses that we played. Cart paths also need attention
Wet fairways. Small, nice greens. This was our overall favorite.
Was not maintained well....cart paths were in awful condition. Our cart just up and stopped halfway down the first hole that we played. I had to walk back to clubhouse and get a replacement.
Love all the waste bunkers and scenic water holes and gorgeous hom3s around the course
Love all the waste bunkers and scenic, challenging water holes.
No one in club house after we teed off. Locked up. No restroom access at clubhouse, restrooms on course locked up also. Not very welcoming at all. Wanted to play another nine; had to pack up and go to other course to pay and play.
Loved the sprawling waste bunkers, many water hazards and Bermuda grass greens.
Course and pathway need repair
Enjoyed it
Rained the night before and course was unplayable.
Greens were in bad shape.
The course was ok, there were so greens in bad shape. Some of the tee boxes were in a need of a cut.
Very good shape. Greens and fairways were better than expected.
Course had been neglected and I do realize that it was not maintained for several months following the Covid lockdown.
Awful course, broken cart paths
Horrible shape
was in good shape and provided a good challenge
Needs work on greens.
Couple of the greens were in bad shape
Played it twice. Extremely wet and marshy. Nobody ‘s fault. Just a lot of rain that week.
had to check in at a different clubhouse. No advance notice of the grill being closed or no beverage cart. cart path was in horrible shape
Grill was closed no beverage cart had to go to another club house to check in
This course was dry and had a lot of character.
