The course
Shaftesbury Glen pairs a challenging parkland course along the Waccamaw River with an Olde English clubhouse worth the drive on its own.
Shaftesbury Glen is a Clyde Johnson design that opened in 2001 along the Waccamaw River, where the property combines a world class golf course with a fishing venue. The parkland par 72 measures 6,935 yards from the championship tees with a 74.3 rating and 140 slope, 6,445 from the men's tees, and 4,976 for ladies. Greens are Sunday Bermuda, and the layout leans traditional with elevated putting surfaces, wide fairways, and expansive traps.
Golfers describe the course as challenging, innovative, and fun, a combination that makes it a smart addition to any Myrtle Beach golf package. The elevated greens put a premium on precise approach shots even when the wide fairways let you swing freely off the tee. After the round, the Olde English clubhouse is a destination in its own right.

★★★★Good facilities and course was in great shape
★★★★★Shortest course which worked perfect for the last day of trip. Seen a few gators too!
