Tiger's Eye is a Tim Cate design that opened in 2000 on the North Carolina side of the Grand Strand. The par 72 layout runs 7,014 yards from the championship tees with a 73.3 rating and 141 slope, 6,628 from the men's tees, and 4,502 for ladies. Natural waste areas, coquina fairway boulders, native grasses, and wildflowers frame nearly every hole, and elevation changes of up to 60 feet give the course movement you rarely find near the coast.
The greens are fast and heavily undulating, and they put up formidable opposition to the birdie you were hoping for. Signature holes come one after another, headlined by an island green par 3 and the waterfall backdrop on the 18th. Rated 4.5 stars, Tiger's Eye is a genuine gem and a strong pick for the marquee round of a North Strand golf package.
