The course
South Carolina's Course of the Year in 2001, Tradition Club pairs wide Low Country fairways with two island greens and some of the largest waste bunkers in Myrtle Beach.
Designed by Ron Garl and opened in 1995, Tradition Club sits south of Myrtle Beach on U.S. 17. The par 72 championship layout measures 6,875 yards with a 73.2 rating and 134 slope, with men's tees at 6,313 and ladies' tees at 5,189. The design packs in memorable holes, including two island greens, one a par 3 and one a par 4, plus seven holes that play through the marshes. Fairways are wide and forgiving, but the greens undulate and the waste bunkers are among the largest and deepest on the beach.
The practice facility alone is worth arriving early for. It features a 43,000 square foot putting green along with multilevel pitching and chipping areas, so you can sharpen the short game you will need on the Tifdwarf greens. A large upscale clubhouse rounds out the experience. Rated 4.5 stars and long considered one of the best values in Myrtle Beach, Tradition is a favorite of our own Golf Master Jim.
