The course
A Mike Strantz original from 1998, True Blue is a 4.5 star test that regulars compare to a cross between Pinehurst No. 2 and Pine Valley.
True Blue Golf Club opened in 1998 as one of the boldest designs on the Grand Strand. The par 72 course plays 7,126 yards from the championship tees with a 74.1 rating and 143 slope, drops to 6,812 from the men's tees, and offers a 4,508 yard option for ladies. Sand defines the round here. The bunkering is deep, in places double head high, and most of the par 3s play from elevated tees with bunkers running the entire way from tee to green.
This is a course that demands your attention from the opening hole. The first four holes will snap you into reality fast, so warm up before you step to the first tee. TifEagle greens reward a good approach, and the water and bay setting gives the round a look you will not forget. True Blue consistently earns Top 10 recognition among Myrtle Beach courses and belongs on the schedule for any group that wants a serious challenge.
