The course
Named Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year in 2007, Wachesaw East brings tournament pedigree to Murrells Inlet at a course any handicap can enjoy.
Wachesaw East is a Clyde Johnson design that opened in 1996 in Murrells Inlet, on the south end of the Grand Strand. The traditional par 72 layout stretches to 6,933 yards from the championship tees with a 74.0 rating and 146 slope, while the men's tees play 6,618 yards and the ladies' tees 4,995. Five sets of tees in all mean every player in your group can find a comfortable game. Rolling fairways and strategically placed bunkers give the course a challenge that feels distinct from its neighbors.
The course has real credentials to back up the scenery. Beyond its 2007 Golf Course of the Year honor, Wachesaw East hosted four televised tournaments from 1997 to 2000, proof that the conditioning and layout hold up under professional scrutiny. Greens are TifEagle, a putting surface built for smooth, consistent rolls. It is a dependable anchor round for any south end golf package.
