The Grand Strand kicks off March with one of the Southeast’s most popular road races. Known for its flat, fast course and festive atmosphere, it draws runners from across the country and serves as an official Boston Marathon qualifier.

65th Annual Can-Am Days โ nearly 100,000 Canadian visitors celebrate on the Grand Strand for 10 full days.
The biggest event of the March calendar. For over six decades, Myrtle Beach has welcomed tens of thousands of Canadian visitors to Can-Am Days โ a 10-day celebration that runs from North Myrtle Beach to Murrells Inlet. Hotels, restaurants, theaters, and golf courses all participate with special deals.

One of the largest independent car shows on the East Coast, running for the 37th year. Over 3,200 vehicles โ all 1989 and older โ spread across 56 acres near the heart of Myrtle Beach. Free to attend, and genuinely impressive whether you’re a car person or just looking for something to do on an afternoon.

The third week of March is the busiest โ Can-Am Days, Run to the Sun, the ShamROCK Run, and the Kite Festival all overlap March 19โ22. If you’re visiting that week, plan your days intentionally. Accommodations book up early for Can-Am, so reserve lodging well in advance.
