Thinking about a Myrtle Beach golf getaway this summer? ⛱️ Before you pack your clubs, it’s important to know which courses are closed for aeration.
This seasonal maintenance is a crucial part of keeping the Grand Strand’s top golf courses in championship shape—especially as we approach the high-demand fall and spring seasons.
Why Do Golf Courses Aerate? 🌱
Aeration involves perforating the turf with small holes to help air, water, and nutrients reach the grass roots. This helps relieve soil compaction, manage thatch buildup, and encourage stronger, healthier turf growth.
Courses often follow up with topdressing (spreading sand) to smooth the putting surface and aid recovery. While it may temporarily affect conditions, it ensures the greens bounce back better than ever.
